CAD
Computer Assisted Design. Computer hardware and software systems for designing apparel and implementing their manufacture.

 

 

CAD/CAM
Computer Assisted Design/Manufacturing. Computer hardware and software systems that grade patterns and make markers electronically and have the capability to do computer-controlled cutting.

 

 

Capris/Capri Pants
Women’s trousers that end near the middle of the calf or just below.  Became popular in the United States during the 1960s when Mary Tyler Moore wore them on The Dick Van Dyke Show television series.

 

 

Cargo Pocket
Large patch pocket used on shorts and pants.  The curved pocket top extends to the waist and forms a loop through which a belt is pulled.

 

 

CIM
Computer Integrated Manufacturing. The production of a finished product by integrating various computer-aided processes, i.e. CAD, CAM, CGMM (Computer Grading & Marker Making).

 

 

Culottes
A divided skirt that is much fuller at the hem than it is at the waist. Also called a skort, i.e. skirt and shorts.
