Goth Look
A style, originating in a London club called the Bat Cave in 1981, that was inspired by Gothic literary works of the 19th century such as Dracula.  Followers commonly use or mix black, blood red, and purple colored velvet and lace with fishnet and leather.

 

 

Gore
A skirt section, wider at the hem than at the top, providing fullness and shaping toward the waist without using darts.  Usually 4-6 sections, but can go up to as many as 24 for a skirt.

 

 

Grosgrain
Trimmings used for ribbons, sashes, bows, neckwear, hatbands, millinery, and decoration on dresses.

 

 

Gross Margin
The difference between the net sales and cost of goods sold. Usually an indicator of profit.
