Bauhaus
Practical, theoretical, and influential industrial art, craft, architecture, and design based at a Weimar, Germany, art school from 1919 to 1933. Founded by architect and designer Walter Gropius. The New Bauhaus opened in Chicago in 1937. Although architecture was the main focus, some of the most famous designs for textiles, lights, chairs, stacking stools, tables, and dinnerware are still used today.
