Electroplating
The placing of a metal (such as gold) onto another type of metal’s surface through an electro-chemical reaction.

Emerald
This gemstone is of the beryl family and among the most valuable gemstones in the jewelry sphere. Unlike most gemstones, flaws (called inclusions by gemologists) are very common in emeralds, so that lowers the value to much less than with other precious stones such a diamonds. The most highly prized emeralds are mined in the country of Columbia. A valuable emerald will be a bright, vividly colored green.

Emerald Cut
This jewelry shape is rectangular with corner facets and broad, flat planes. It is given a step cut creating rows or steps of elongated facets which act like mirrors. The emerald cut has 58 facets (25 crown, 8 girdles, and 25 pavilions). The emerald cut stone reveals a classic beauty and elegance not seen in other cuts.

Enamel
This jewelry process is the fusion of a special powdered glass that is melted and fused onto the surface of a metal using a very high temperature and creating a decorative, hard surface with vivid colors.
