sales promotion
Marketing activities, such as sales, coupons, contests, sweepstakes, discounts, etc., that are used to stimulate consumer interests and purchasing of merchandise; may include media and non-media efforts that stimulate customer demand.

 

 

soft lines
Lines of merchandise made from textiles; apparel, towels, table linens, and bedding, etc.

 

 

sole proprietorship
A business owned, managed, and operated by one person who assumes all of the debts and earns all of the profits.

 

 

specialty store
A retail operation that concentrates on one category or a limited variety of fashion merchandise with unique characteristics.

 

 

SWOT
A marketing acronym that means Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.
