Taffeta
A plain-weave fabric with a crisp, fine, smooth hand and a lustrous appearance. Originally made of silk.

 

 

Terry Velour
A pile-weave cotton fabric with an uncut pile on one site and a cut pile on the reverse side. Terry velour is valued for its soft, luxurious hand. Commonly used included towels, robes, and apparel.

 

 

Tertiary Colors
Shades of colors obtained by mixing the three primary colors or by mixing one or more of the secondary colors with black or gray.

 

 

Texture
The surface outcome of a fabric, such as soft, fine, stiff, coarse, dull, lustrous, open or closely woven.

 

 

Thread Count
The number of ends and picks per inch in a woven cloth; the number of wales and courses per inch in a knit fabric.

 

 

Tint
Tinge that produces a very pale shade.

 

 

Tulle
A sheer netting fabric frequently used for ballet costumes, veils, special occasion, and eveningwear.

 

 

Tweed
A medium to heavy weight, fluffy, wool or wool-blend, twill-weave fabric containing colored slubbed yarns. Common end uses include coats and suits.
