Riser
Anything that can be used to elevate a piece of merchandise.

Example: The plexi risers were replaced by overturned terra cotta pots to create a garden setting.

 

 

Rounder
A circular metal fixture used to house items that are either on sale or require a lot of capacity.

Example: The 50% off rounders look better when they are positioned in the back of the department.

 

 

Rule of Three (or Five)
A merchandising principle which asserts that items look better when they are grouped in threes or fives (as opposed to even numbers like two or four).

Example: I always use the rule of three when I am creating a presentation in a vitrine.
