My students and I really enjoyed our speaker. He did a wonderful job presenting A Style All Their Own… The French. The class was captivated by the images, the subject matter, and the speaker’s personality. It was a terrific opportunity for my class to learn more about French culture and history, as well as the fashion that they are known for.

FIDM has been giving outstanding presentations in my classroom for the past 20 years. Each presentation has been interesting and relevant to my students’ world and the subject of Economics. I appreciated having the actual industry examples for my students to understand the finances involved in operating a business. The guest speaker bureau provided by FIDM is a valuable educator’s tool. I use the guest speakers every term and it is a learning experience for both my students and me. The speakers are energetic and enthusiastic. They provide up to date fashion information from the industry's point of view. Each presentation includes valuable information and hands-on activities. My fashion students designed their own shoes. They loved it! They ( The Designs) are up on the wall in my classroom and everyone that walks in comments on them. The guest speaker bureau is a valuable educational tool that FIDM provides free of charge to high school educators. There are different presentations that are just right for you and your students. The guest speakers are willing to work with your needs and always have suggestions that will best fit your curriculum.

Image as a Tool to Shape Public Opinion is one of the best FIDM presentations. The material was a great supplement to our curriculum. I was very pleased with the quality and content of Image as a Tool. It definitely gave my students many things to ponder over in the future as they watch debate coverage, consider candidates, and vote at the polls. They now realize just how much the public’s initial judgment can affect a person’s political career.
