FIDM‘s Outstanding Educator Spotlight was established to recognize and honor creative and innovative American high school teachers. It is a relationship initiative founded by the Office of Community & Educational Affairs at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

There are two ways an educator may be considered.

• Educators are nominated and a winner is selected by the FIDM College Representatives and Speakers in FIDM‘s Office of Community and Educational Affairs.

 

• If you or one of your educator colleagues wish to be considered for nomination, please contact us so that we can add your name to that quarter’s list of nominees.

To nominate oneself or one‘s colleague, the criteria is as follows:

• Must have interfaced at the activity level (Speakers Bureau presentations, special event participation, fairs, counselor presentations, seminars, etc.) on at least three occasions within three years and must have worked with a FIDM College Representative to provide a FIDM-specific presentation to his/her students

 

• Must be interviewed by a FIDM-appointed college representative after the nomination has been made and prior to the final selection


• Must have demonstrated strong support for FIDM’s curriculum and related industries

The quarterly recipient of the Outstanding Educator Spotlight will be showcased on the Just for Educators microsite with a biographical feature and a photograph. The recipient will also receive a gift basket of branded FIDM merchandise.
