Why I would encourage other high school teachers to apply for the FIDM Connection Grant?
"I would encourage other high school teachers to apply for the FIDM Connection Grant because the future of education lies in the connections teachers make among the disciplines. We as teachers should be teaching not only our area of expertise, but also allowing opportunities for students to juxtapose the skills and knowledge from various areas of study. This allows for a more valid high school experience that students are more apt to retain and value."

What winning the grant means to me, my students, and my high school?
"The grant funding will pay for much needed supplies for the upper level honors fashion students. They will be able to better achieve the goals that I set for them, and not have to purchase supplies needed. Mostly though, winning the grant means that there are programs in place that value the innovative planning that teachers do every day to make for a better high school experience."

What I will share with my students about this experience?
"I will share with my students the willingness and positive attitude that FIDM has demonstrated throughout this application process, and how receptive the Institute is to novel ideas in education. This experience shows me that FIDM is ready for the 21st century!"
